Utility Bill Payments

Payments may be mailed, paid in person at the Village using credit, debit, cash or check, online, or at local financial institutions. Payment in full must be received on or before the due date to avoid penalties.  Payment is considered received at the time of receipt by the Village.  Please allow a minimum of 7 business days to ensure timely receipt.

How To Save You and the Village, Time And Money

 Did you know that when you pay online using your financial institutions banking options, payments may not be received promptly?  While financial institutions process their customer’s payments promptly, it can take up to 10 business days for a check to reach the Village.   Keep in mind that the date the payment is received is the date of payment receipt, not the date of the check.  If you utilize on-line banking remember there can be delays, so schedule your payment accordingly.  

Using direct debit can alleviate any delay in payment receipt and can also save you money.  How? You don’t need a stamp, you don’t need to drive to a mailbox, and your payment is always on time (no late fees).  Unlike manual checks or online checks from your financial institution, direct debit payments do not need to be manually entered, which also eliminates human error in posting.  You will also receive a $1.00 per month credit on your bill.   To sign up for direct debit all you need to do is complete the direct debit form and return it along with a voided check with your next payment or mail it to the Village of Sugar Grove, 10 S.
