The Finance Departments primary functions include the preparation and monitoring of the Village's financial state, overseeing investments, debt management, collection of revenues, payment of expense, billing and insurance. The Finance Department has three divisions, Accounting, Human Resources and Utility Billing. Mr. VanVooren, Finance Director Ext. 12 Jennifer, Accountant Ext. 25 Terri , Accounts Payable & Payroll Ext. and Utility Billing Ext. 11 Accounting Division The Accounting Division is responsible for the accurate recording and reporting of the financial activity of the Village. To accomplish this, staff coordinates all aspects of the accounts receivable and accounts payable processes and works with all Village departments to ensure that the proper purchasing procedures are followed. Staff also monitors financial activity to ensure that the budget, as adopted by the Village Board, is followed. The Accounting Division is also responsible for the preparation and presentation of the annual property tax levy and budget. Human Resources The Finance Department is also responsible for the Human Resources functions of the Village. The Human Resources Division is responsible for the coordination of all personnel related matters. This ranges from the acceptance of employment applications and oversight of the hiring to the coordination of the employee benefit programs and to the processing of the bi-weekly payroll. Utility Billing The Utility Billing Division is responsible for invoicing residents for water usage, sanitary sewer maintenance, and garbage service on a monthly basis. This division is also responsible for the investigation and resolution of customer concerns regarding utility bills.
