Mallard Point & Rolling Oaks Residents,
Despite the efforts of many, it is with great disappointment that we have to announce that the planned Mallard Point/Rolling Oaks Area Drainage Improvement Project is not a viable option at this time. The complications and costs of easement acquisition and the approval process have made committing to this project (along with committing resident’s money and taxpayer dollars) at this time is not a prudent decision. Despite the best efforts of so many, to continue to pursue this project would be a waste of limited resources and no longer serves the best interests of the community.
There are many people who deserve sincere thanks for their efforts. Kane County representatives including Board Member Drew Frasz, Board Chairman Karen McConnaughay, Board Member Melisa Taylor and Water Resources Director Paul Schuch, Village staff and consultants, and most importantly, the residents who have participated in this process.
The Village still intends to move forward. We will now focus on alternative options that we have been exploring in the background. The attached FAQ’s more fully discuss the situation, what the Village’s plans are, and what residents can do. We ask for your understanding in this difficult circumstance.
Sincerely,
President P. Sean Michels
